The configuration details for GNOME power manager have not been installed correctly
I realize that this question has already been asked, but I have an additional question as to how to boot from the disk.
I have a netbook which I dual boot with Windows 7 and Linux Mint 10. I was attempting to upgrade Mint in terminal and now when I reboot to Mint it shows "Install problem! The configuration details for GNOME power manager have not been installed correctly. Please contact your computer administrator." Apparently to fix this you have to run some commands in terminal but when I reach this screen there is nothing I can do. I cannot login and when I run recovery mode there is no way that I know of to get to terminal. I cannot login to my username. What I want to know is how can I fix this without using my data on the Linux partition? I should mention that as I have a netbook, I dual boot Mint from a USB stick.
Thanks.
